Historic Downtown Truckee Neighborhood Profile
In Downtown Truckee approximately 1/3 of the homes were built at the turn of the century. Most of the historic buildings are concentrated along Historic Commercial Row, with some along the Truckee River. Historic Commercial Row has a certain charm that gives you that feeling of stepping back into history and strolling through a small town in the old west. There are numerous restaurants and shops in downtown Truckee in addition to a train/bus station. Zoning is mixed, providing opportunities for both residential and commercial uses. Homes in the quaint neighborhoods of Downtown Truckee are of many different home styles such as mountain, chalet, ranch, and Victorian. The area is currently being revitalized by the community and private investors, thereby increasing the property values in the central Truckee area.
