Happy New Year to you and yours! We’re very optimistic about the year ahead for real estate. We have run across a great article that we would highly suggest you take a look at. As we begin a new year, there are some indices to pay attention to as we look ahead. While year-over-year home price measurements notched down in 2011, prices are expected to see a slight uptick in 2012, according to *Clear Capital (based here in Truckee). Should the valuation company’s predictions ring true, it would be the first time since 2006 that the change in annual home prices has landed in positive territory. Data released by Clear Capital on January 9th shows year-over-year, national home prices dropped 2.1 percent in 2011. For 2012, the company projects a slight gain of 0.2 percent. Community News
The big news around here is the merger of Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley USA. This was announced in December. It’s been rumored for years, and now, season passes and lift tickets will work at both ski resorts starting this winter.
The deal allegedly was initiated last winter on the chairlift, in what started as a conversation between Squaw Valley president and CEO Andy Wirth and Todd Chapman, president and CEO of JMA Ventures, the company that owns Alpine Meadows. More info can be found at Tahoe Super Pass information.
