Carnelian Bay Neighborhood Profile

Agate Bay, Carnelian Woods, Ridgewood Highlands, Carnelian Heights, Fulton Acres

Carnelian Bay is a community on the north shore of Lake Tahoe, between Tahoe Vista and Tahoe City. It offers beautiful lakefront and lake-view properties in pine forested neighborhoods. Classic wooden boats are often seen in this area of Lake Tahoe, and each summer the Concours d’Elegance classic wooden boat show is hosted in Carnelian Bay. Within the Carnelian Bay area is the Agate Bay community which is a very comfortable neighborhood with moderate to high-priced homes in wooded settings. Homes in this area have excellent rental histories due to the Sun Club pier and pool, and two tennis court locations. Lakefront homes in this area are close to the highway with easy access. Carnelian Heights is another nice, secluded area with a high percentage of permanent residents. The homes in this area have very wooded settings and they are a mix or older and newer homes. Ridgewood Highlands is a community that is also very woodsy like Carnelian Heights, but the roads are a bit steeper and narrower than Carnelian Heights. The winter access can be a bit more difficult because of the roads, but this is offset by the advantage of an association pier. Lake view and lake front homes sometimes become available in this community.

Kings Beach Area Neighborhood Profile

Brockway, Brockway Vista, Kingswood Estates, Kingswood West, Wood Vista, Lake Vista

These communities are in the North Lake Tahoe area in the area around Lake Tahoe close to Hwy 267. Hwy 267 connects to I-80 making this area very accessible and an easy drive to and from Truckee. The homes in these areas are close to dining and shopping in Kings Beach and around Lake Tahoe. The Brockway community is a very small area that includes the Brockway Springs Estates, site of the famous Brockway Hot Springs Resort Hotel, which is a gated lakefront community of 20 home sites on 20 acres. The Estates also include a variety of amenities. The Kingswood Estates and Kingswood West communities are located off of Highway 267 and have homes in treed, quiet settings with some lake views. Wood Vista is a small community of homes, which is gradually upgrading, and is located near or on Old Brockway Golf Course in Kings Beach.

Tahoe Estates, Tahoe Vista, Tahoe Marina Estates
The Tahoe Vista area is between the Kings Beach and Carnelian Bay areas of north Lake Tahoe. The community of Tahoe Vista is a level neighborhood of mixed older cabins and newer homes that are within a walking distance of a public beach, marina, and restaurants. The Tahoe Estates community is north of Tahoe Vista and consists of a potpourri of very nice homes, older cabins, and some homes with spectacular lake views. Tahoe Marina Estates is a secluded area that’s very accessible to dining and shopping. It is a very quiet area with many lake view homes.

Tahoe City Area Neighborhood Profile

Bunker Tract, Lake Forest, Highlands, Dollar Hill, Villas, Dollar Point, Rocky Ridge

Tahoe City is located at the junction of Hwy 89 and North Lake Blvd. The Truckee River exits Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City, and is the only outlet to the lake. Fanny Bridge at the dam in Tahoe City is a popular viewing point of giant trout. Many fine shops and restaurants, a marina, 1 9-hole golf course, and a beautiful public beach make this area a favorite spot for tourists and residents alike. Many homes are within walking distance of all that the area has to offer. The homes and the rare legal duplexes are generally mixed in age, architecture, quality and upkeep. The Bunker Tract is located behind the golf course in Tahoe City and consists mainly of permanent residents. Lake Forest is an area with some homes near or on the lake, and has many older cabins and homes – some with quality upgrades. The Highlands community is across from Dollar Point and is comprised of mainly permanent residents. This is a prestige area with a somewhat suburban feel. Homes are well maintained and there are many newer and completely remodeled homes in a high end price range. Dollar Point is another prestigious, higher price subdivision. It has many of the same characteristics as The Highlands with the advantage of amenities with include a beach, pier, buoys, pool, two tennis court locations, and a club house.

West Shore Neighborhood Profile

The communities to the south of Tahoe City, running from Tahoe City to Rubicon Bay, are on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. These communities are wooded and are popular with many people that enjoy Lake Tahoe water sports, as well as hiking on the many trails in the area. Many of the communities offer beach parks and access to piers/buoys for residents. Tahoma, Homewood and Rubicon Bay are just some of the quaint communities located on the West shore of Lake Tahoe.
