It is 3 miles long, _ mile wide, and 200 feet deep. The West End beach is a public beach at the west end of the lake and has lifeguards, tennis courts, basketball courts, sand volleyball courts, a snack bar, barbecues and playground equipment. Donner Lake homeowners can purchase a season pass or pay a daily fee to use the beach facilities. Donner Lake also offers several public docks for summer recreation. Lakefront and lake view homes and lots are sometimes available in this area. In addition to the homes in the quaint communities around the lake there are also a few newer subdivisions of homes in this area.
